Ancient Hawaiian Shamanism (HUNA)
In ancient Hawaii, there were wise men and women, who looked at the world, observed the patterns of nature, the behavior of plants, animals and human beings and came to some conclusions about life and its meaning, and how it works. The name they gave to this knowledge is “HUNA”: “The Secret.” “The Hidden Knowledge.” “The Inner Knowledge.”
The people who practiced this knowledge were called kupua, and today we would call them “shamans”
A Shaman
... is a healer of relationships: between mind and body, between people, between people and circumstances, between humans and nature, and between matter and spirit*. * Urban Shaman, Serge Kahili King, PH., D., Pg. 14
We are two professionals who believe that the ancient principles and practices of Huna have something important to offer our contemporary world,
